Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 13th January 2024, 300 yards, Series 3 Match 1. Series 3 of our program commenced from 300 yards on Saturday with a light breeze that occasionally swung from a south westerly direction to southerly then from the south east meaning shooters had to keep focused on their game. Target Rifle shooter Steve Williams finished with a one point advantage after his second stage result to claim the lead for the day over Graeme Bright with Ron Gibson next scoring well after his return from a substantial break from shooting. John Coghill retired after equipment issues during his first stage. Sporter Class shooter James Clarke had a bit more competition in his class on the day but shot brilliantly scoring a double possible for the day to top score over visiting shooter Tristan Hughes who also shot very well competing in sporter class for the first time with Dennis Lavelle next in the class.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 6th January 2024, 900 yards, Series 2 Match 12. The final round of the second series for the year was held on Saturday from 900 yards with the mostly overcast weather making a great day for shooting. In a lesser version of the previous weeks conditions the light south westerly breeze came with a hazy mirage sight picture for the scope shooters at times as it moved around to a southerly then slowed before returning again from the south west with the degree of difficulty reflected by the scores not apparent until after shooting commenced. Graeme Bright managed well top scoring the Target Rifle shooters after dropping just one point in his first stage to then finish three points down for the day ahead of Steve Williams who struggled more than usual during his first stage score.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 30th December 2023, 800 yards, Series 2 Match 11. The final 800 yards range for the second series was held on Saturday with the westerly wind often swinging to come from the south as it eased in strength throughout the afternoon. This made for difficult conditions which is reflected in the scores with all shooters present failing to make their handicap. Graeme Bright topped the Target Rifle shooters after again finishing the day with a possible to lead Steve Williams by a point with Gordon Shepherd next after he crashed badly in the conditions during his second stage, with John Coghill following. Shooting in Sporter Class Dennis Lavelle managed a reasonable result for the day.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 23rd December 2023, 700 yards, Series 2 Match 10. Saturday’s final 700 yards range for the series started with the flags hanging at the side of the pole but the first shooters down appeared to not capitalise on those conditions with some reporting that gremlins were at play which was likely to have been the difficult to detect movement in mirage and a slight tail wind at times. Most shooters had to deal with the eventual northerly to north-westerly breeze and the difficult to see angle changes with the Target Rifle shooters faring best in the conditions although most F Class shooters kept within their handicaps. Steve Williams shot consistently gaining the most centre bulls in Target Rifle to top score on the day with Graeme Bright finishing a few centres behind after scoring a satisfying possible for his second stage.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 16th December 2023, Series 2 Match 9 600 yards. Saturday saw the completion of the final 600 yards match in the second series of the season with high temperatures helped slightly by the strong breeze that constantly moved from a north westerly to a south westerly direction while varying in strength from twenty to thirty kilometres per hour. A good roll up of shooters battled the conditions with just one shooter managing to score to their handicap. Steve Williams topped the Target Rifle shooters on the day ahead of Graeme Bright who had an interrupted first stage with mechanical problems.
