Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 6th June 2020, 800 yards practice.

Saturday provided some magnificent weather for the last of our forced practice days from 800 yards which was the last days shooting for the Club calendar year. Some shooters made the most of the mild weather conditions with just a slight breeze coming over our shoulders from the North West at times and then dropping off to almost nothing in between. Others are only slowly getting back to normal after the break with mixed results for the days shooting.

In Target Rifle Steve Williams kept all his shots in the bull’s eye ring for a great days shooting to finish four points ahead of Gordon Shepherd who improved greatly for his second stage scoring the best TR stage result for the day and highest centre bull count with Graeme Bright finishing one more point behind.

The F Class shooters were led by Geoff Willis who also managed to keep all his shots in the six ring or better with Jeff Eppleston next after a strong start but changed rifles and was the only F Class shooter not to improve with their second stage score. Phil Mahon had a great improvement for his second stage to finish third for the day ahead of Col Howell who also had a great finish but his first stage unfortunately held him back a bit from the others.

Next Saturday 13th June we start the new shooting calendar year at 300 yards for the start of the Diggers & G James Cups.
