Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 6th August 2022, T W Willman Trophy 900 yards.

Saturdays competition for the T W Willman Trophy from 900 yards was contested in strong westerly winds varying from 12 up to 20 kph that were rarely consistent for very long making top scores difficult to achieve.

The Target Rifle Class shooters all had a similar slow start with their first stage scores but Gordon Shepherd held on well during his second stage losing just one point early to take the days honours ahead of Graeme Bright with John Coghill slipping behind on his last couple of shots for the day.

F Class shooter Geoff Willis put lessons learnt in similar conditions to use and wasted no time in getting his shots away to lead the class two points ahead of Jeff Eppleston and then Mal Wright who were separated by only one super centre. Phil Mahon finished next in line a few points away with one point over Nick webster and Khoby West-Kennett who is keen to get back shooting after a long break. James Clarke continued his practise in Sport/Hunter Class and after a shaky start to his first few shots he settled, scoring a possible for his second stage and then again for a third stage score.

The T W Willman Trophy was won by Mal Wright (99.67) with runner up Geoff Willis (99.33) and the K Harvey Trophy has concluded with the winner Geoff Willis (595.58) and runner up Graeme Bright (591.75). Next week we are back to 300 yards for the start of the Gilmour Cup competition.
