Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 17th September 2022, J Wilde Memorial Trophy & K Redding Trophy 700-900 yards.

The final round of the J Wilde Memorial and the K Redding Trophies from 900 yards was held in strong west to north westerly winds on Saturday that would prove difficult for most shooters as it provided few occasions of steady conditions.

Target Rifle shooter Steve Williams amazed the rest of his class dropping just one point during the afternoon to finish ten points ahead of his nearest rival Graeme Bright who did not come to terms with the conditions finishing one point ahead of Gordon Shepherd with John Coghill a few more points down.

Graham Willis also did well in the conditions top scoring the F Class shooters with a loss of five points finishing two points ahead of Jeff Eppleston who improved slightly with his second stage score. Mal Wright followed a further eight points behind and one point ahead of Phil Mahon. Sporter Class shooter James Clarke continues to improve his skills and even though his scores today were below his average he shot a late practise stage to prove his potential at the long ranges dropping just two centre bulls for the stage. New Sporter Class shooter Chris Pollock tried out the long range without a coach and was happy to keep most shots in the black on the day.

Winner of the J Wilde Memorial Trophy is Steve Williams (195.75) with runner up Graham Willis (195.75), winner of the K Redding 800-900yds Trophy is Graham Willis (100) with Steve Williams runner up (99.75). Next week shooting will move back to 300 yards for the start of the W Cutler Cup.
