Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 26th February 2022 F A Wilde Trophy 600 yards.

The third and final round of the F A Wilde Trophy was held on Saturday at 600 yards with a mostly light south easterly breeze that varied just enough at times to catch the unwary.

Gordon Shepherd finished the day with a strong second stage score to take the top spot in Target Rifle Class ahead of Graeme Bright by just one centre bull. Ron Gibson followed next one point ahead of John Coghill with both shooters making up some lost points with improved second stage scores.

Nick Webster had a great day top scoring in F Class dropping only three points for the day after setting the standard with his first stage score although next best Phil Mahon had a great second stage score trying to catch up. Mal Wright finished two points away next with much improved scoring for his second stage just one super centre in front of Col Howell. Geoff Willis followed another two points away just ahead of Auskir Berryman and Jeff Eppleston.

The F A Wilde Trophy was won by Phil Mahon (297.17) with runner up Col Howell (294.66). Next Saturday will be the first round of the C R Kelly Cup from 700 yards.
