Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 27^th August 2022, Gilmour Cup 600 yards.

          The final round of the Gilmour Cup was held on Saturday from 600 yards in warmer weather than of late with very little to no wind to be seen during most of the afternoon and just a light breeze lifting the flags occasionally which saw most shooters score to their handicap or within one point.

In Target Rifle Class Dennis Lavelle finished in front of John Coghill on the day with all other TR shooters away for the final round of the Gilmour Cup.

          F Class was again closely contested with Jeff Eppleston shooting consistently to get the days top spot by three super centres over Col Howell who finished the day with a solid possible score. Graham Willis finished just one point behind the leaders after starting the day with a top possible score missing just two super centres in his first stage to lead Geoff Willis by two points and nine super centres. Phil Mahon and Mal Wright followed next one point away and separated by four super centres ahead of Auskir Berryman who was unlucky to not claim a possible when he dropped a point on his last shot of the first stage. Darren Johnson continues his learning of the discipline scoring well again with David Butler attempting to sort out a wayward scope which did not help his scores. Visiting shooter James Clarke had a great days shooting again in Sporter Class which is standard shop bought rifles supported on a bipod and normally fitted with a scope.

          The Gilmour Cup was won by Mal Wright (199.25) with Phil Mahon runner up (198.92). The J Wilde Memorial Trophy competition starts at 700 yards next week.
