Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 4th May 2024, 900 yards, Series 4 Match 3.
Saturday’s threatening cool and possibly wet weather failed to dampen the enthusiasm of eight keen club members who competed in the Series 4 Match 3 event which was the final 900 yards event of the 2023-2024 season leaving just three more events finishing at 600 yards. The club awnings were erected which proved invaluable in allowing the days event to proceed safely and with relative comfort for most. The westerly breeze was difficult to read with the wet flags although remaining steady enough, resulting in all shooters who were able to compete in the light rain to score above their range handicap.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 27th April 2024, 7/800 yards, Series 4 Match 1/2.
The final Series 4 Matches commenced with Match 1 from 700 yards on the 20th April and then Match 2 from 800 yards held last Saturday the 27th April.
The 700 yards Match 1 event saw Graeme Bright lead the Target Rifle shooters with Dennis Lavelle shooting Sporter Class. Col Howell topped the F Class Standard field while Garry Cafe blitzed the F Open group with his new rifle.
The 800 yards Match 2 event saw the flags mostly hanging to the side of the poles with only an occasional breeze from the west to lift them a little more than the mostly slight movement from either side that was perhaps observed better with the mirage seen through a telescope.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 13th April 2024, 8/900 yards, Series 3 Match 11/12.
Saturday saw the final round of Series 3 competition held at 900 yards in cooler weather with a light but sometimes variable westerly breeze which allowed more than half the field of shooters to score above their handicap for the distance.
John Coghill was the only Target Rifle shooter competing allowing him to add to his yearly aggregate score in the class without competition. Sporter Class shooter James Clarke again scored well losing just two points during the afternoon to finish ahead of Dennis Lavelle in the class.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 23rd March 2024, 700 yards, Series 3 Match 10.
Shooters again enjoyed a day with some cloud cover providing great weather to be shooting the final 700 yards match of Series 3 with a light westerly breeze that was variable at times to give some shooters cause for consideration between shots. Almost half the shooters scored to their range handicap on the day with two visiting shooters again trying out long range target shooting.
Graeme Bright top scored the Target Rifle shooters for the afternoon finishing with a one point advantage over Steve Williams who found the going a bit harder later in the day, John Coghill followed next after a slow start with his first stage results.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 16th March 2024, 600 yards, Series 3 Match 9.
Saturdays overcast day provided some very easy weather to be outdoors for our second 600 yards shoot in Series 3 of the season. Light winds from the east early during the early afternoon soon changed to a light westerly with the flags often hanging down the pole which became more frequent later in the afternoon. The conditions allowed the majority of shooters to score close to or above their range handicap with two shooters gaining double possibles for the day.
