Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 3rd August 2019. 800yds. W & J Brown Shield. Saturday saw the largest roll up of shooters for club competition in some time but fortunately the new electronic target systems coped well without any problems enabling all shooters to finish in time. It is planned to bring another electronic target into service during the week to get shooters finished earlier from next Saturday onward. Once again fine weather made it enjoyable to be out soaking up the sunshine earlier in the afternoon with a light to moderate breeze from the south west which repeatedly swung to the west and occasionally increased in strength as well. This ensured shooters had to be very vigilant watching flags and mirage to capitalise on their score.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 27th July 2019. 500yds. J Sibera Trophy. Saturday gave shooters a mild day for the second round of the J. Sibera Trophy with light winds averaging from the south as they blew towards the shooters faces but continually switching from either side and not all at the same time they caused trouble for all but a few. Several visitors and new members have boosted attendances lately and have given the Bathurst Rifle Club’s new 8 sensor electronic targets some good use over the last couple of weeks. In TR class Graeme Bright and Steve Williams fought it out for top spot for the day, both only conceding one point each to the conditions with Graeme finishing two centre bulls ahead with a strong finishing second stage.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 20th July 2019. 300yds. J Sibera Trophy. Saturdays light winds and sunshine had plenty of shooters out to contest the first round of the J Sibera Trophy from 300 yards. A light breeze mostly from the northwest gave plenty of steady patches to allow high scores for some shooters. Numbers were also boosted with the return of a couple of Bathurst Rifle Club shooters who had been in Brisbane recently attending the National Championships and also as members of the Australian Rifle Teams competing in the Trans-Tasman F Class competitions against their New Zealand counterparts, with Australia taking out the F Open and FTR Class competitions. The day’s honours in TR Class went to visiting former Bathurst club member Darren Crimston who has been shooting very well recently with Steve Williams only a couple of points away and Gordon Shepherd one more point down.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 13th July 2019. 900yds. C R Kelly Cup. Saturday’s third and final round of the CR Kelly Cup and 900 yards championship round saw the shooters who decided to venture outdoors dealing with a day of bitterly cold and gusting westerly wind varying from approximately 25 to 40 kph easing at times later in the afternoon. Steve Williams again led the TR shooters as he skilfully lost only three points in the trying conditions and claimed ten centres with Gordon Shepherd five points away after having his shots blown about too much in his first stage. Graeme Bright finished the day a further four points down after scoring in the magpie three ring too many times.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 6th July 2019. 800yds. C R Kelly Cup. The second round of The CR Kelly Cup was contested on Saturday at 800 yards with shooters having to deal with a northerly breeze that blew up the range from behind as it switched from one side to the other. Most shooters managed to get at least one good stage for the day with a couple not so lucky. Steve Williams showed how a break away may help by taking out the days honours in TR class with an excellent double possible for the day with Gordon shepherd next after a good first stage but finishing five points behind after finding the magpie ring in the second stage.
