Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 18th May 2019. 700yds. I Hughes & R Northcott Trophies. Saturday gave us a beautiful afternoon to be outside enjoying the sunshine with only a light breeze mostly from the north west to occasionally lift the flags then dropping at times to allow the mirage to creep from the east. The upgraded electronics of the target system performed well as the club members familiarised themselves with the new software and scores in general were not too bad for the difficult 700 yards target. Some may have expected above average scores in the conditions, but there were enough swings of mirage and flags to dampen most hopes.

Gordon Shepherd returning from a couple of weeks R&R showed the way dropping 4 bullseyes due to the fickle breeze. Second was Graeme Bright two points behind Shepherd and Ron Gibson two points further back.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc. 27th April 2019. 300yds. L Williams Cup. Following a week or more of stable autumn weather Saturday was forecast to produce gusty SW winds which really did not eventuate except for the very last shooters of the day. Together with the short range of 300 yards some good scores were expected from the nine shooters competing. Of the two TR shooters that competed, Graeme Bright top scored finishing with a 49 to recover from a poor fist stage, to beat Ron Gibson’s 86.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 13th April 2019. 900yds. Captains Trophy & Championship. Last Saturday gave us some great weather to finish the Captains Trophy at 900 yards. With a couple of the Target Rifle shooters away contesting the Victorian State Championships at Bendigo numbers were down a little for the opportunity to get a good score in for the club championship round. During the afternoon the fickle breeze proved difficult to manage, coming from the west to slightly north westerly early on then changing to be more southerly to south westerly and occasionally dropped off leaving the flags to hang down the poles.
