Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 4th March 2023 C R Kelly Cup 700 yards. Saturdays overcast weather helped keep temperatures under control for the first round of the C R Kelly Cup from 700 yards but the conditions seen earlier turned to be very difficult at times with wind gusts coming from every direction during the afternoon then rain setting in just as shooting finished for the day. Graeme Bright again led the Target Rifle shooters on the day and after a rough first stage went clean in his second until losing a point on his last shot with Ron Gibson following next one point ahead of John Coghill. James Clarke had a reasonable first stage score shooting in Sporter Class but found the conditions later more difficult.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 25th February 2023, F A Wilde Trophy 600 yards. Saturday’s weather made for a great day to be out enjoying the warm sunshine for the final round of the F A Wilde Trophy at 600 yards but the switching northerly breeze rarely settled proving difficult for many shooters with only half the field shooting close to their handicaps. Graeme Bright improved considerably during his second stage score to lead the Target Rifle shooters with John Coghill next also improving greatly in his second stage. James Clarke had a great day’s result shooting in Sporter Class with big improvements in his recent scores after a good barrel cleaning job.

Saturday saw the second round of the F A Wilde Trophy from 500 yards held in very hot weather with a strong north westerly wind that continually varied in strength and direction during the afternoon, although with the reduced number of shooters to that of the previous week all shooters were pleased to finish early for the day due to the hot weather. Graeme Bright coped well and after losing a couple of points during his first stage he managed to go clean in the second to lead the Target Rifle class shooters with John Coghill next up followed closely by Ron Gibson.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 11th February 2023, F A Wilde Trophy 300 yards. Saturday’s competition saw the start of the F A Wilde Trophy from 300 yards with a strong north westerly breeze that strengthened during the afternoon with swings coming from the west as the strength eased to make it difficult weather to gain good scores in. With a good roll up of club members and six visitors trying out long range shooting it was a busy day. Target Rifle shooter Graeme Bright top scored in his class although found it challenging during his first stage with Ron Gibson following next with a good first stage result but unfortunately had some trouble holding steady during his second stage finishing a couple of points ahead of John Coghill who had similar results later in the day.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 21st January 2023, 700 yards. Competition for the I Hughes Trophy was held on Saturday 21st January from 700 yards in what mostly appeared to be great conditions for shooting but most shooters found the conditions to be more difficult than expected in the light south easterly breeze and heavy mirage. Steve Williams returned from a short break to show he still had what it takes top scoring in Target Rifle class earning a four point lead over Graeme Bright and then Dennis Lavelle, who were separated by three centre bulls, with John Coghill following closely next up ahead of Ron Gibson. Sporter Class shooter James Clarke also found the going tough finishing below his normal scoring.
