Sat 3rd January 900yds
Saturday 3rd January was shot at 900 yards for the Second round of series 2 for the 2025-2026 season and the First shoot of 2026, what looked like an almost perfect day for 900 yds was quickly understood to not be once the shots started, with a tricky mirage and shifting winds found some shooters questioning every shot down range.

Target Rifle saw Graeme Bright fair best in the tricky conditions to be ahead of Steve Williams in second.

Sporter had no shooters this week.

F Standard saw Dave Butler taking the win over Phil Mahon after making some load changes saw the pills flying over 3000 fps.

F Open had Geoff Willis fairing best in the conditions after dropping 3 in the first stage he only dropped a single point the second stage to take the win over Jeff Hill who is still getting the 7mm to play.

Saturday 17th January was shot at 500 yards for the First round of series 3 for the 2025-2026 season, today was a very tricky day to be on the range with a East South East wind blowing that was causing turbulence across the range from the trees.

Target Rifle was topped this week by Steve Williams who was putting in a great second stage until the last shot drifted out of the bulls eye with Les Fraser in Second a single point behind.

Sporter had no shooters this week.

F Standard only had 2 shooters this week with Phil Mahon taking the win over Tristian Hughes who was back on the range after finally getting some time off work, the other F STD shooters on the day were doing load development or shooting another class like Jeff Hill who gave target shooting a go.

F Open saw Geoff Willis take the win with a steady pair of 57’s with James Clarke in second who couldn’t find the 6 ring in the second stage. .

Saturday 31st January was shot at 700 yards for the First round of series 3 for the 2025-2026 season, the westerly winds made an appearance today with the scorching hot temperatures made for a tricky day with the wind deciding to change directions at the drop of a hat catching most shooters out.

Target Rifle was topped this week by Steve Williams who gave it a good crack given the conditions to be a couple of points ahead of Graeme Bright.

Sporter saw only one shooter Dennis Lavelle who is still fine tuning the 308 rifle.

F Standard only had 1 shooter this week with Dave Butler taking the new 308 back through its paces on a very tricky day.

F Open saw the return of Garry Cafe who took the win with a nice 59 in the second stage (I’m pretty sure the casual shoots on holidays helped) with Jeff hill taking second by 1 point over Geoff Willis and Ben Wright.

Saturday 7th February was shot at 800 yards for the First round of series 3 for the 2025-2026 season, today looked like a nice and calm day for shooting but was soon realised there was much more going on down range then what the flags had indicated, with a storm lingering to the south east we packed up just in time before the rain hit.

Target Rifle was topped this week by Steve Williams dropping 3 points for the day to be a few points ahead of Graeme Bright

Sporter had 3 shooters this week with Adam Gardiner taking the win with a pair of 49’s that possible just seemed to allude him on the day with Dennis Lavelle in second.

F Standard was won by Phil Mahon this week to be a couple of points ahead of Dave Butler.

F Open was being worked out by a countback between Geoff Willis and Jeff Eppleston before they realised Jeff Hill had pipped the both of them by 1 point.

Saturday 21st February was shot at 900 yards for the First round of series 3 for the 2025-2026 season, today was a pleasant day on the range with the wind looking like it was playing fair but it did manage to trick a couple of shooters.

Target Rifle was topped this week by Steve Williams dropping a single point for the day to be a few points ahead of Graeme Bright.

Sporter had 2 shooters this week with Adam Gardiner taking the win with Dennis Lavelle in second after having to retire with scope issues.

F Standard was won by Phil Mahon this week with Tristian Hughes a couple of points back in Second.

F Open again was sorted out between Jeff Eplleston and Geoff Willis both scoring 116 but Jeff Epplerston took the win easily this week with 10 X’s over Geoff Willis’ 6 X’s.

Sat 28th February NSWRA Medal
Saturday 28th February was the NSWRA Medal round, due to time constraints the club only shot 3 ranges, 1 at 800yds and 2 at 900yds, with 10 shooters all contesting for a single medal, all shooters turned up with their A game with most scoring within a couple of shots of their handicaps given the tricky easterly wind with sudden changes up and down the range that made for a good competition.

Mal Wright is the NSWRA Winner.

Saturday 7th March was shot at 300yds for the second round of the series 3 shoot, todays weather apart from the light sprinkle was actually a pleasure to shoot in seeing most shooters score within their handicaps and allowed for the 6 visiting shooters enjoy the day.

Target Rifle only had 1 shooter this week Graeme Bright, scored a fantasic second stage after moving the barrel tuner.

Sporter only had 1 shooter Dennis Lavelle.

F Standard was won by Col Howell this week by a single point over Phil Mahon in second.

F Open was won this week by Mal Wright to be a single point ahead of James Clarke.
