Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 19th November 2022, K Redding Trophy 700 yards. Saturday provided some of the most challenging conditions for the K Redding Trophy from 700 yards with a very strong westerly wind that continually changed throughout the afternoon providing few opportunities to achieve a good score. With several shooters away at the ACT Championships the remaining field of Target Rifle shooters were led by Gordon Shepherd who topped the days scores by six points to Dennis Lavelle and then John Coghill a few points further away. Shooting in Sporter Class, James Clarke found it difficult to keep the group centred in the conditions but somehow managed to score a possible in a late practise shoot on the day.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 5th November 2022, W Cutler Cup 600 yards. The final round of the W Cutler Cup was held on Saturday from 600 yards with warm sunshine and a variable but light south westerly breeze. A good roll up of shooters including a visitor from Lyndhurst Club enjoyed the warm weather during the afternoon. Steve Williams set the pace in Target Rifle Class with a great possible scored for his first stage and the loss of just one point during his second stage to finish two points ahead of Graeme Bright for the afternoon.

Bathurst Rifle Club Saturday 29th October 2022. Bathurst Rifle Club held their annual presentation dinner at the Bathurst RSL Club on Saturday evening with members and their guests enjoying their meal followed by the presentation of over three dozen trophies and awards achieved over the 2022 shooting year commenced in June 2021. A highlight of the night was the awarding of Bathurst Rifle Club Life Membership to Gordon Shepherd, who has served meticulously as Club Treasurer since 1978. The A Grade Target Rifle Championship Trophy was won by Steve Williams along with a selection of other trophies with the B Grade Championship winner John Coghill.

Weekly Review 23/10/2022

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 23th October 2022, W Cutler Cup NSWRA Medal. Saturday saw our return to the range after several weeks’ shutdown, starting with a 100 yard zero check in the morning followed by a 600 yards practise after lunch. Sunday the Bathurst Rifle Club held their NSWRA Medal competition over 500 and 600 yards in the morning, followed by 700 and 900 yards after lunch. The mostly overcast weather with predictions of rain led to some apprehension about a successful day but twelve keen shooters came along and were rewarded with a completed full days program without interruption including some of the best warm weather conditions for shooting that could have been hoped for.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 24th September 2022, W Cutler Cup 300 yards. Saturday saw the first round of the W Cutler Cup from 300 yards in mostly strong and variable south westerly winds, several visiting shooters came along to try their luck on the small 300 yard target with just one club member able to score to their handicap. Three Target Rifle shooters battled the conditions all losing six points each for the day with Steve Williams scoring eight centre bulls to stay in front of Graeme Bright and Gordon Shepherd who scored six centre bulls each.
