Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 30th April 2022 W & J Brown Trophy 700 yards.
Saturday saw the first round of competition for the W & J Brown trophy from the difficult 700 yards range. The wet weather eased from about midday giving way to a very enjoyable day to be outdoors and in a change from the last few months weather the breeze returned to be predominately from the south west during the afternoon with the usual direction changes and drops in strength to keep shooters entertained.
Graeme Bright top scored the Target Rifle shooters starting with a three point lead after the first stage and gaining another point advantage during his second stage with Gordon Shepherd next best at the completion of shooting for the day. John Coghill followed next staying ahead of Ron Gibson, but coping with equipment problems made it difficult for him to concentrate and pull good shots.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 23rd April 2022 J Sibera Trophy 600 yards.
The final round of the J Sibera Trophy held over three weekends was contested on Saturday at 600 yards with a good attendance of shooters including new members and visitors. The light south easterly breeze and accompanying mirage varied throughout the afternoon mostly giving some degree of difficulty, although at times dropping off to almost nothing with the cloud cover then providing a good sight picture helping some shooters to boost their scores.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 26th March 2022 C R Kelly Cup 900 yards.
The final round of the C R Kelly Cup was contested last Saturday from 900 yards with a good attendance of shooters enjoying the milder temperatures due to some cloud cover. The breeze was again predominately from the south easterly direction with the usual continual changes in direction and strength and those that missed the difficult to predict changes lost points.
Steve Williams returned from a short break to show why he is leading the Target Rifle shooters in the Club Championship starting off with a possible for his first stage score to finish two points ahead of Gordon Shepherd who had a steady day dropping two points at each stage score. Graeme Bright finished a little off his normal pace another two points down but equalling the top score in centre bull count and finish one point ahead of Ron Gibson and Charlie Bennett who continues to improve each shoot while also achieving a personal best on the day.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 12th March 2022 C R Kelly Cup 800 yards.
Saturday saw the second round of competition for the C R Kelly Cup from 800 yards and with a few Target Rifle shooters not in attendance the F Class shooters were in a majority again on a day which turned out to possibly be the nicest shooting conditions of the year so far with a very slight breeze fluttering from side to side occasionally as it came from the south east to the south west and on several occasions stopped to show a slightly boiling mirage for just long enough.
In Target Rifle Class Gordon Shepherd led the way with his first stage score which set him up to take the days honours over John Coghill who finished with the best individual second stage score ahead of Ron Gibson who accumulated the greatest number of centre bulls for the day.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 5th March 2022 C R Kelly Cup 700 yards.
The first round of the C R Kelly Cup at 700 yards on Saturday was well attended with a majority of F Class shooters and the relatively calm wind conditions may have given hope of good scores during the afternoon. After shooting got under way most shooters then realised just how tricky the conditions would prove with the breeze changing from south east to westerly throughout the afternoon with a relatively heavy mirage to make sighting difficult for the F Class scope shooters.
Graeme Bright may have been a little disappointed in his scoring but he topped the day in Target Rifle Class with a massive ten points margin over Gordon Shepherd and Dennis Lavelle followed closely by John Coghill and then Ron Gibson with a couple of points separating them.
