Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 30th July 2022, N Rutherford Memorial Trophy 800 yards. Saturdays competition for the N Rutherford Memorial Trophy from 800 yards was held in some of the best conditions for some time with a very light northerly breeze which saw Target Rifle shooters scoring well on the day but F Class shooters failed to take advantage of the good weather. Three Target Rifle shooters lost just one point each with Steve Williams leading the trio with a seven centre bull advantage over Gordon Shepherd and then Graeme Bright who was one more centre bull away. Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 9th July 2022, Digger & G James Cups 300 yards. The fourth round of the Diggers & G James Cups held last Saturday saw a good attendance of shooters including a couple of regular visitors. The light and variable westerly breeze was mostly not too difficult but ready to catch those not watching on occasion and while the cold was bearable when the sun made it through the cloud, it was bitterly cold without sun and with the breeze. Graeme Bright held on to top spot in Target Rifle Class after gaining a one point advantage over Steve Williams in the first stage, while they both finished with possible scores in their second stages. Gordon Shepherd started out with a leading score in his first stage but crashed towards the end of his second stage with John Coghill finishing three points away next after an improved second stage where he scored five centre bulls.

With several club members away competing in events at Anzac Rifle Range in Sydney over the weekend Saturdays third round of the Diggers & G James Cups competition saw numbers down from normal although the weather was much better than on the coast with a light westerly that drifted on and off during the afternoon giving the shooters a chance to get in some reasonable scores on the day. Gordon Shepherd was the only Target Rifle shooter keen enough to compete on the day and post a score for the trophies.
