Bathurst Rifle Club Inc. 16 December 2017, Diggers and G James Cups, 500yards Heat and humidity were the major enemies of shooters as they tackled the 500 yard range on Saturday. A light breeze started in the north-north west moving along the whole 180 degrees of the western boundary from north to south, at times even jumping across the range to come in from the south east. It was the usual culprits who showed up the rest of the contingent as Geoff Willis laid down a big double possible 120.12 in F class and Nick Cock just missed his double possible with a 99.12 in target rifle. Bathurst Rifle Club Inc. 25 November 2017, Diggers and G James Cups, 500yards Saturdays’ shoot was held in very light winds, predominantly from the south east, and fishtailing slightly, but heat was the major enemy with the strong sun combined with a high humidity draining shooters as the day progressed. Ron Gibson seemed to have it all together in his first stage 48.05 but regressed a little with his second stage 46.02.

The weather was kind with a gentle forward fishtail breeze which did just enough to keep shooters on their toes. Following on from his giant killing exploits of last season Colin Howell left the very talented F class group in his wake. Howell shot the only possible of the day, in either grade, a 60.5 second stage possible.

Bathurst Rifle Club Inc. 22nd October 2017, Annual Open Prize Meeting. A new era for rifle shooting on Mount Panorama was born on Sunday with the first full electronic target competition held at the Bathurst Rifle Range. The Club was very grateful to David Waters from Katoomba Rifle Club for supplying and managing additional targets to allow a full gallery of six Silver Mountain Targets for the two days of shooting. The results were brilliant with the shoot completed inside seven hours without a problem and the 51 shooters left only to enjoy or lament their success or failure with natures forces the only influence on their efforts.
